JOIN THE BAWS LEADERSHIP TEAM
Dear friends,
BAWS is excited to announce that to continue providing support and resources to our sex worker community, we seek to fill two organizational “Top” + “Bottom” roles to work alongside our current Tops Team (Co-Director, Comms Top, Mutual Aid Top, And Outreach Top). To make our community work sustainable, we invest in BAWS community members by offering a financial stipend for select positions (please note that this is not an employee/employer situation).
We are currently looking to fill the following roles:
Fundraising Top
Communications Bottom
TOPS members complete their individual roles and participate in the collaborative process with fellow leadership team members.
To fulfill our ongoing commitment to making BAWS’ Tops team reflect the diversity of our communities, any applicant who is BIPOC, disabled, transgender, and/or has a dependent/s is encouraged to apply and will receive a stipend of $300 monthly for your labor.

BAWS Tops Team
BAWS is an anti-racist, anti-transphobic, anti-whorephobic organization, in solidarity with the disabled community, pledging to keep learning and improving. We are in solidarity with local BLM movements, Defund the Police, drug users, and poor folks because sex worker justice is racial justice, harm-reduction, anti-poverty, and abolitionism. We are looking for Tops members who share and work towards these values. BIPOC, Trans, GNC, disabled folks, and people with dependants are strongly encouraged to join our team.
FUNDRAISING TOP
Keeps the money flowing in for our mutual aid fund!
2-4 hrs per week + one 1HR meetings per month
Responsibilities:
Initiate BAWS fundraising campaigns - work with our graphic designers, artists, and Comms Top
Expand our donor and membership base
Reach out to the community/local businesses to help with fundraisers
Research grants and other funding opportunities
Help coordinate fundraising events
Role Requirements (we will train folks - don’t worry about having exact experience)
Internet & email access
Understanding of online marketing and promotion
Creative promo ideas
Writing skills
Comfortable reaching out to donors and community members via email & social media
General hu$tler attitude
COMMUNICATIONS BOTTOM
Support our Comms Top in communicating our activities to our communities through social media and other online channels.
1-2 hrs per week + one 1HR meetings per month
6-month minimum commitment
$150/month stipend for those that qualify (BIPOC, disabled, transgender, and/or has a dependent/s)
Responsibilities:
Post-pre-created content
Create alt text
Update IG stories + Twitter
Checking DMs
Support the creation of content that we share with our BAWS community
BAWS resource & event information
Update info on BAWS’ website & blog
Newsletter
Email listserv
Essential Qualities (we will train folks - don’t worry about having exact experience):
Writing skills
Experience in online s*x worker spaces
Familiarity with local and national s*x worker organizations
Comfort and ease with Twitter & IG
Experience with Squarespace a plus
Must have internet access
