Safety is mutual aid. Love is harm reduction.
December 17, International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, is next month. This annual day of remembrance calls us to take action to better protect and uplift our community.
This year, we are partnering with local outreach teams to make sure that the sex workers in our community are supported, resourced, and cared for by the time winter hits. We’re fundraising $2000 to assemble and distribute 50 self-defense kits for QIBIPOC street-based SWers - and we need your help. Funds raised will go towards purchasing essential supplies for personal defense, harm reduction, safer sex, COVID risk-mitigation, as well as some small tokens of comfort and care. Each kit is designed to meet real-world needs and affirm safety, autonomy, and dignity.
We’re grateful to be partnering with the Naughty Nurse Mobile at Lyon Martin and the Street Outreach Team at Berkeley Free Clinic to be able to help us get these kits directly into the hands of workers who need them.
If you are able, please donate and share with your networks. Every dollar helps strengthen community safety.
